Need I say more? Cream Puffs. PERIOD. These cream puffs are to die for! A family recipe that has been passed down for a few generations. As beautiful as they look, I have to admit, my brother takes all the credit for baking them! I just did the photographing here! My brother is by far the best cream puff baker 😊

What’s not to love around the holidays?? Cooking, baking and sharing laughs with the ones you love whether it be your family or friends that’ve turned into family. It’s always a great time. It’s what I look forward to and hope to continue to pass down within my family for generations to come.

So on the 9th day of the 12 days of Christmas cookies, we have some wonderful homemade cream puffs made by my brother, Matt and topped off with a dusting of powdered sugar!

If you’ve never made your own cream puffs, the hardest part is making the pastry dough! But, my brother is a pro! Even though I have a stand mixer he mixed it by hand and reminded me that for many years my grandma would mix this dough by hand as well. As the two of them grew older, my brother helped my grandma make the dough a few times over the years.

Some people will buy pastry shells when they don’t want all that extra work! Which is fine, really the cream puff is all about the filling. For the filling, we use vanilla pudding mixed with milk. And I’ll share a secret, we add whipped cream to the pudding mixture to give it that extra silky smooth filling.
