12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES & SWEETS – SPRITZ, COCONUT MACAROONS & MELTAWAYS

I can’t believe how quickly Christmas came and went! My husband and I celebrated with our families and had a wonderful time. Now we’re ready to ring in the new year!

I’ve been so busy I did not have time to post everyday as I had hoped. After all, my cookie plate was quite full! But alas, I’ll be sharing the 3 final cookies.

Day 10 of my 12 day’s of Christmas cookies I made Spritz cookies! For these I used a heart cookie cutter with some green sprinkles. Next year I need to buy a cookie press as they will be much easier to make. But they still came out cute & colorful💚

When I plated them for the picture I loved that it looked like a Shamrock so I left it that way. I’ll call it the Christmas Shamrock… Bringing out the wee bit of Irish in me! Next to my plate I placed my sweet little TY beanie baby I’ve had for years named “Mistletoe”. Who else was and still is a beanie baby lover like me?? Haha!

Next up, on the 11th day of Christmas I made another one of my personal favorites, Coconut Macaroons!

Some people either love or hate coconut. I absolutely love coconut when it comes to a sweet treat like this. Almond joys are one of my favorite chocolates. In the past my grandmother added a Hershey kiss to the center of these macaroons which is a fun little surprise! I personally like to leave this one plain coconut. It’s sweet and delicious!

Last but not least, on the 12th day of Christmas I’ve made Melt-a-ways! In my family we’ve called them walnut crescents because normally we shape them into a half moon. This year I decided to roll them into balls. Walnut Crescents have hands down always been my favorite cookie my grandmother made and I am still trying to perfect the recipe.

These cookies I have seen made with almonds and with pecans but my family makes them with walnuts. I’ve been making them for a few years now and they never come out quite like my grandmothers do. But, practice makes perfect and either way they’re still a really tasty treat! They kind of remind me of little snowballs with the powdered sugar. Simply adorable.

And, that’s a wrap! All 12 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies & sweets! Thank you all who have stopped by to read each post. I hope seeing the different types of cookies and treats I’ve made has inspired you during your own holiday baking! I look forward to sharing more event related articles and different inspirational posts in the future. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year! I am ready for this new decade! 2020 here we come❤️
