12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES & SWEETS – SWIBACK COOKIES

Day 4 of the 12 days of Christmas cookies and sweet treats! My family has traditionally called them Swibacks, but it is also known as Zwieback (in German) because it is baked twice. These cookies are definitely a family favorite because they go great dipped in some coffee, hot chocolate or even a cappuccino!

Swibacks just like many other cookies, can be tweaked based on your personal preference. Some cover or drizzle it in chocolate. The perfect biscotti!❤️ My family has always gone with chocolate chips so I continue on with our classic recipe. Although one day my friends mother made Swibacks with dried craisins and chopped pistachios which I was always interested to try to make! They had tasted so delicious!

So far the 12 days of Christmas cookies has been going great! I love trying to continue on with my grandmas cookie traditions and to also be able to photograph as I go has been a ton of fun for me! Even if I might not share every secret family recipe 😂 I still hope each post gives you different inspiration and ideas for your own holiday baking! I don’t know about you but, I’m super excited about the countdown — 7 days until Christmas Eve! ❄️
