Let’s Talk: Bridal Subscription Boxes!

Nowadays, there is a subscription box for just about anything! One day, I stumbled across a Bridal subscription box and I couldn’t help but do some research to see what else is out there! I thought it was a wonderful idea! If you’re a bride-to-be and this sounds like something you would enjoy — then look no further — I’ve taken all the guess work out for you and listed some of my favorite and not so favorite brands! (By the way, this is not a sponsered advertisement! This is all simply out of interest).

Being a fairly recent newly-wed myself, (although it sounds crazy to say it’s been a little over two years—how the heck does that happen?!!!) I felt I was able to make good judgements as to whether the items in each box were really worth the value. I honestly really loved the planning process leading up to my big day and I wish I knew about bridal boxes back then because I totally would have splurged to enjoy some of these! My wedding was such a special time in my life and I loved the many little details that went into planning and prepping. As a bride I felt there were certain aspects that ended up being very meaningful in the long run, along with marrying the love of my life of course💍

Today, I’ve brought to you SIX different Bridal Subscription box companies and I’ve compared prices as well as items. I wanted to share with you my overall best judgement and knowledge! If you’re going to spend a little extra on pampering yourself, you’ll want to invest in something that is fun and totally worth it! Plus, I feel when you are planning a wedding on Long Island, prices can quickly add up so why not set aside a little to give yourself the treat you deserve during that once in a lifetime wedding planning process! That’s what I call a Long Island Budget… if there is one! So if you’re a Long Island bride like myself, or any bride, anywhere for that matter, you may already know that planning a wedding takes a lot of work so, I suggest you keep reading because this post may inspire you to treat yourself along the way! 💗

So, let’s get to it!!

1. First up, the Miss to Mrs Box!

Image from MisstoMrs.com homepage

The Miss to Mrs box was one I had heard of quite often as it has been featured in Ruffled Blog & Style Me Pretty so, I did some research.

Each box has about 7-8 items and there are 9 different themed boxes!

This company says they stay up to date on the latest wedding trends and tailor their boxes based on the season of your big day. Miss to Mrs is $35/box however, you do not have a monthly option, you would need to purchase a 6m or 9m subscription, depending on the date of your wedding.

Miss to Mrs also provides a variety of options to subscribe depending on what your date and preference. For example, if you are getting married between June-August 2020 you can either do a 6m subscription or a 9m subscription and depending on when you place your order, they will also expedite your shipping so that you get your boxes biweekly vs. monthly or bimonthly.

If you’re planning your wedding as soon as February/March of 2020 they provide another option for a 3m subscription that they will send out biweekly. These timelines for shipping make sense as the company wants you to receive your packages before your big day!

Personally, I felt their subscription process is a little more complicated than it needs to be. What I do like is that you do not have to pay for the subscriptions in full, you have the option to pre-pay in full or allow monthly payments or biweekly payments. A 6m subscription is $210 if paid in full or the $35/month for 6 months (equaling to $210) and these costs do not include shipping and tax.

But, now let’s get into the products! As I’ve mentioned, they have boxes with different themes such as “Ultimate Bridal Swag”, “Classy and Fabulous” and “Wedding Day Essentials”. Some of the items I’ve seen are festive wedding balloons that can be used for bridal showers, engagement parties or your bachelorette party, they’ve provided tote bags (which come in handy!), planning notepads, ring cleaner and different mugs/tumblers and much, much more!

For the price, this is definitely a fun subscription box but I’m not keen on the idea that you’re only encouraged to buy more than one box. The quality of the products seem decent but I don’t feel a lot of them lived up to my expectations for what seemed like a well known brand. But then again, for $35/box the price range is reasonable and the products are adorable and can be useful for any bride-to-be! Currently, on their Instagram page they have a code for 50% off your first box!

2. Next up, The Ring Boxes box!

The Ring Boxes have been featured on the Knot! This box is $39.95/box and the great thing I noticed right away is that you are able to purchase one box at a time. They also offer subscriptions for a 3 month, 6 month or 9 month period. I have to say, I really enjoyed this box and what it had to offer!

The quality of products were about the same as the Miss to Mrs box but they added their own little touch. For starters, each box comes with cute little DATE NIGHT recipe cards for you and your fiancé! And just like Miss to Mrs they are currently offering a 50% off coupon code for your first box.

I enjoyed the amount of variety they had while shopping on their website. The Ring Boxes had individual products you can buy like T-shirts, mugs and more and they had the option to purchase a Groom’s box for $39.95. I thought that was a really nice touch! Not only do the men in our lives deserve a surprise in the mail, I also felt it was a great buy for someone in the LBGTQ community!

Then, as far as pricing goes, I liked their pricing structure. The longer the subscription, the lower the monthly box costs. But now, let’s get down to the products! I felt the products were pretty useful but overall they weren’t high quality products. Some of the items included in their bridal boxes were a robe, a wifey hat, bride and groom signs for the sweetheart table (something you will definitely use!) and more. Overall I liked this box and I felt these items were definitely useful!

The Ring Boxes is a great subscription box even if the price per box was slightly higher than Miss to Mrs. Then again, I feel if I’m going to pay a little more cost wise I want to see better quality products.

3. Tulle La La Box:

I mean, I hate to start things off on a bad note but this was by far my least favorite box. I stumbled across this company while researching subscription boxes. First off, this box was WAY over priced at $54.99/box however they do have 3 month, 6 month and 8 month subscriptions. They also provide a “Deluxe Box” for $64.99. For their regular box you’ll receive on average only 5 items per box which is the least amount of items in any bridal box out there. Higher price and less items is a thumbs down for me. Also the website wasn’t nearly as appealing as all of the other websites.

The nice catch is that they state these prices are with shipping included so I suppose that balances out the cost but don’t forget the tax needs to be added as well!

As for their products, I can’t say they were terrible but they were average. Some of the items they included were a Bridal notebook (which always comes in handy with wedding prep), T-shirt’s, socks and a cute Bride winter beanie to name a few. I guess the overall price of this box made these products unexciting for me. If I am going to spend $20 more for only 5 products, I want each product to be jaw-dropping and awesome! Unfortunately Tulle La La missed the mark for me.

4. The Something New Bridal Box:

Their website says “A little something before you say I do!”. I’m a sucker for great marketing. I also feel a professional website for these subscriptions is what makes it a YAY or NAY!

Take a look for yourself: Click here for the website!

Something New has 4-7 bridal essentials in each box! You are able to subscribe to a monthly plan, 3 month or 6 month plan. A monthly box is $44.95 which is on the higher end once you add tax, shipping and handling. The company recommends purchasing a 3 month or 6 month subscription as it will save you some money rather than doing a monthly auto-renewal. A 3m subscription saves you 10% and a 6m saves you 15%. Currently on their Instagram they are also offering a 15% off code!

On the Something New Bridal Box website they are currently selling their recent October box as it may be something they have an overstock of. They are selling that previous box for $49.99 and it includes a Bridal sash, a wooden cake topper, a white bridal robe, a bath bomb, wine glass, necklace and a love bottle opener. I actually really liked the products I saw as they seemed much more useful and nicer quality! A great runner up with the Ring Boxes subscription.

A planner like the one shown in the picture above is perfect gift! It can become such a sweet keepsake after the wedding day is all said and done. It’s thoughtful details like this that make these subscription boxes go a long way.

5. The Bride Box:

Next up, the Bride box! This subscription has many ordering options. You can chose to order it monthly, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months or 12 months! It also costs $39.99/box and if you were to choose to go with a longer subscription package the monthly price will slightly decrease. For example if you decided you liked a 6 month subscription the monthly box would cost $36.99 which they give you the option to pay month with auto-renewal or you can pay $219.99 in full. I personally really like having the options!

What I have also really grown to love about The Bride Box is that they offer several one-time buy, bridal boxes! If you don’t like the idea of committing to a subscription you can go to there online store by clicking: HERE. In their online store they have so many boxes to chose from such as the Bridesmaid Box ($29.99) {which I think is such an awesome idea}, the Bridal Beauty box ($44.99), the Bachelorette Box ($54.99), The Honeymoon box ($59.99), The Best of Bride Box ($64.99) and the Ultimate Bride Box ($99.99) just to name a few!

I personally adored the Bridesmaid box idea! It was super cute! For example, this box included the following items: Bridesmaid sash, body scrub, nail polish, notepad, “Will you be my Bridesmaid” stationary card, a “Thank You for being my Bridesmaid” pearl necklace, beaded Bobby pins and a lip gloss! I just thought it was so fun! I would say around $30 is the average cost of a Bridesmaid gift. It’s the perfect way to thank your favorite people for being by your side.

I enjoyed that this site had more to offer than cheap looking Bridal Knick-knacks.

In addition to the Bride Box online store, they offer individual items for purchase as well like a Bride beach floppy hat, T-shirt’s, makeup bags, mugs and more! Talk about variety!! That’s the kind of stuff I want/love to see!!

Currently the Bride Box is in first place. I love that they have all different price ranges, they have expanded their brand to all bridal clients and their products seem to be very useful and of great quality. Currently this company also has a 15% coupon code on their Instagram!

6. Last but not least, Maeven Box :

Now, I really did save the best for last with this one! Maeven Box is not your typical bridal box because they consider themselves a luxury subscription. All I know is that I wanted to feel every bit of luxury that I could on my wedding day! Dressing in a white sparkly gown marrying my Prince Charming… to me, it felt right out of a movie screen. It’s the one day you can and should feel a little like royalty, even if just for the day! It’s your dream come true even if that dream may differ from mine.

Anyway, back to this luxury brand. Maeven has appeared in several big platforms like POPSUGAR, The New York Times and Cosmopolitan Magazine. On their website they claim that each box is worth around $120 in value. Right away as a customer I feel impressed as they are the first company who has stated their product values online. It also makes it known that the items in your box are much better quality, with their monthly subscription being higher than most, Maeven is $49.95 but that price is only slightly higher than Something New. Yet, still less than Tulle La La’s price.

No matter which subscription timeline you chose, each Bride gets the same first box which is their Intro Box. I totally loved the continuity! No bride will feel like they’ve missed out when they all get an intro box.

Now, each monthly box contains 6-8 items and they consider the box itself to be “keepsake” box which I thought was genius. While planning your wedding, you will gather so much paperwork and other items that you truly need to keep together, so a reliable and pretty to look at keepsake box is really the perfect touch!

Some items they’ve included in their intro box are a wedding organizer (which is an every bride must-have — I bought mine at Barnes and Nobles, the Knot wedding organizer which was a lifesaver for me! You can get the same one on Amazon – Click here for the link!), a wooden mr/mrs cake topper, stemless champagne flutes, Himalayan rose bath salts, bride/groom wedding day cards and a beautiful rose quartz necklace. I’m all about the vibe they have going with their products and packaging! Not only do the products look elegant but they are all very useable! Maeven box really brought everything together to create the right sentiment.

Similar to Bride Box, Maeven Bride box offers one time purchase bridal boxes such as their “Signature Beauty Box” (64.95) or their “Best of Bridal Signature Beauty Box” ($95), plus many more in all different price ranges. Then they have a monthly subscription option, and as I mentioned the monthly cost is $49.95 however if you want a longer subscription you can chose from 3 months, 6 months or 9 months but they have to be paid in full. There is no monthly payment options for the longer subscription. The only downside is that for example the 6 month comes to $299.70. There are no discount/coupon codes for this company and they don’t give you any discount prices/box with the extended subscriptions.

However, another nice touch on their website was that if a friend or family member wanted to gift this box to you, they have the option to gift a 2 month subscription for $99.90 so that you can receive the intro box and one additional monthly box. If they only wanted to order one, there are many options to choose as gifts for the bride-to-be!

Lastly, when placing an order you’ll have the option to chose if you are a Mr/Mrs or a Mrs/Mrs, which once again I thought it was a nice detail to show their is something for everyone. Love is love!
