Planning a party is always exciting especially when it comes to celebrating little ones! Over the course of the last few months I have found a lot of incredible content filled with theme party ideas. The options are endless! No matter how big or small your child’s event may be there’s always room for enchanting details!
Take a minute and think back to when you were a child. What was your favorite part of each party? Was it the activities? The birthday cake? Maybe it was the piñata or the goodie bags! Nevertheless, parties in the eyes of a child are like magic that fills the air.
Once you have thought out which details mean the most to you then it’s time to start your planning! First of all, anyone can throw a fabulous DIY party! However, depending on budget, hiring a party planner will allow you to stay involved in the creative process as much or as little as you would like. And the best part about hiring a planner — there less work for you! Once you find someone you can trust and rely on, that truly understands your vision, all the ideas will come to life. There’s nothing more fabulous than showing up to your own event without swearing or fretting the small stuff.
Today I’m sharing all kinds of inspiration for kids parties! So, let’s get into it! This first inspiration came from a design & style company called Deets & Things based in California! They created the most whimsical fairy garden party. When I first saw pictures, I fell in love! This party had everything you could ever imagine. For starters there was a mobile nail salon which was incredible! Something I have never seen here in NY. In addition to that, there were fairy wings for each child to wear, a magical fairy wand making station, a custom photo backdrop and the most delightful dessert stations. Not one corner of this party went unnoticed and you can tell by the photographs that it was an elegant backyard soirée for all ages!

As gorgeous as that fairy garden party was it may not be everyone’s style. A beautifully decorated at-home slumber party can be just as fun! There is a local Long Island rental company that I adore called The Glamping Party Company, located in Nassau County. This company provides the most glamorous custom tent rentals for the modern day slumber party. I guarantee adding these to your next event will be something your kids will never, ever forget! Take a look at some custom tents they have designed below & be sure to check out this unique company on Instagram/Facebook.

If you want to take things up a notch, you may want to create an at home fairytale spa day! Planning a spa day can help kids really relax & enjoy the moment with their besties while getting pampered! This next idea was inspired by See Vanessa Craft who created a unicorn spa themed birthday party for her daughter. This party design makes me want to be a little girl all over again! I loved every detail Vanessa put into this event. The party included a spa session for each child which included a mini manicure/pedicure, a face mask and a fun hair style! Every little girl was given a personalized matching robe, unicorn headband and a pair of flip flops to bedazzle. This party also had desserts and goodie bags that stayed consistent with the theme. Overall, I loved Vanessa’s outlook on using what you may already have as some of the decor to stay cost effective. When you plan ahead & do some shopping within your own home you will be surprised on how creative you can get while keeping a budget!

Now, let’s switch gears and talk about some inspiration for little boys! Even if there aren’t many frills, there are sure to be plenty of thrills! This next dose of inspiration was from Parties With A Cause ! The curator, Bri Adams, located in Utah, created the ultimate prehistoric dinosaur party for her son’s birthday! I am such a sucker for details and I adored not only her attention to detail but how she elevated the color palette to create subtle elegance. Something as simple as spray painting a few of the dinosaurs gold, provided an accent color that gave the table settings a little pop! I also love how she used the monstera leaf as a replicated theme throughout the tablescapes, decor and desserts. As a bonus, she created the ultimate snack table to continue the theme and tries to introduce more healthy snack alternatives for kids like a “herbivore” veggie platter. Such a fun way to get in those vegetables while still having other desserts and goodies available! She used many creative DIY printables on Etsy and discussed how the dollar store was a great place to find inexpensive props like some of the foliage you see in the pictures.

Ultimately, every party should have some sort of “wow” factor aside from the usual dessert table. Whether you choose a fun balloon backdrop or a kids crafting station (or both!) — every party should have a staple, statement piece. Creating the right environment and entertainment will keep your guests young and old excited about their experience. Think about all five senses: touch, sight, sound, smell and taste! It will be a party they will never forget!
To end things off, I wanted to share one more adorable and out-of-this-world party theme! You can’t go wrong incorporating a little bit of rocket-science fun. This next inspiration is by But First, Party ! I love that this stellar party was created with a bit of a minimalist design approach with some Ziggy Stardust flair! First off, the table linens and cardboard rocket ship were meant for coloring which right away leads to some interactive fun! Also, a beautiful balloon display was incorporated around the dessert table and a rocket ship bouncy house was added in as the perfect statement piece. The party favors were right along with the theme as well and each favor included a jet-pack, some astronaut ice cream and a laser beam squirt gun! Too cute!!

Sometimes all you need is a little piece of inspiration to spark some creativity! Even though many events in 2020 have been postponed there is always a silver lining! Postponed events provide extra time for planning out beautiful details so that your next event can be something you are excited about and proud of! I hope this article has brought you the inspiration you need in planning your next event for your children. And don’t forget, hiring a event planner and coordinator takes all the work off your shoulders so that you can be able to relish each moment. Sending you all light & love✨
