Let’s Talk: Party WOW factors!

With so little time & so much planning to do, it’s refreshing to think of ideas on how your celebration can be a little different from all the rest! First, you’re going to want to think of a color scheme. What is it that you LOVE? From there you can start brainstorming the elements of design.

If there is one thing I have loved since I started working in the event industry it’s that the excitement is in the details. Having a statement piece at your party can give just the right touch. Each person has their own personality and that is why when you hire the right professional you will achieve your design goals and ultimately create the vision of your dreams!

As I start my journey in becoming a Certified Event Coordinator, I am finding all kinds of unique inspiration that I thought I would share with all of you! For more amazing content please follow along @stargazedevents on Instagram and my photography page on Instagram as well as on Facebook, Stargazed Photography. I chose the name “Stargazed” one night because of my own spiritual connection with the midnight sky. I like to call myself a stargazer, a dream believer, an eternal optimist because I believe nothing should ever stand in our way, the sky is the limit! As an artist and coordinator, I hope to translate that feeling of “shooting for the stars” in the work I continue to do.

With that being said, I’m here to share a few recent and exciting trends I have stumbled upon and personally adore! First off: A Flower Bar!

Maybe a flower bar is the accessory you never knew your party needed?! I think that it is a wonderful idea for bridal showers and baby showers! Your guests can take home a beautiful fresh bundle of flowers. It’s the perfect party favor! If this is something you love as much as I do — don’t hesitate to reach out because I will gladly create one for your next event!!

Now, we have all heard of the saying “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue”. I have seen many different sentiments for this tradition on wedding days but lately I am adoring all the little surprises Brides add as their “Something Blue”! One day while browsing for inspiration I found some stunning, blue wedding cakes. Now that is a statement I can stand behind!

What a lovely, modern twist to an old tradition! I am all for a POP of color and I think a cake like this would be perfect for any wedding day! I really feel like blue can go with every season depending on the overall color scheme. This cake with the beautiful hot pink peony and floral decor give me inspiration for a Spring/Summer wedding. Why not WOW your guests with something they have never seen before✨

Next up, Food Trucks!

On Long Island, you can find a food truck for just about anything— pizza trucks, taco trucks, donut trucks, candy trucks, ice cream trucks, the list goes on…. They are certainly a new & entertaining way to dine with your guests! I have seen them at weddings but honestly I think they are under-utilized for other events such as birthday parties. Talk about a fun way to impress guests of all ages! No water trays, no cooking, just hire a food truck company! It a unique way to serve food at your next party.

Aside from many great local companies like Swell Taco, based in Patchogue — I loved finding an Australian based company called Happy Camper pizza as they served their pizza in very retro camper! So adorable!! Pass the pizza and tacos please…🙋🏻‍♀️

For those of you that have a sweet tooth, a dessert bar is the perfect add-on to any occasion! Birthday parties, Christenings, Communions, Weddings and more. Any party you are planning can absolutely have a dessert bar. But dessert bars should be done, in style! And the cake at your party, it should swing! Because, well, why the heck not?! If it fits within your budget, a cake swing will be a one-of-a-kind statement piece your guests will never stop talking about!

I’ll never forget this one time I helped design a wedding when I worked for another company and the Bride and Groom wanted an over-the-top, extravagant feel. I recommended a cake swing! At first, they looked at me totally puzzled and maybe you are too! But, when I showed them an inspiration photo, they absolutely loved it and had to have it! Not many people have heard of a cake swing but now that you know about it, you may be asking for one at your next event!! It is the perfect way to display all the lovely sweet treats at any occasion.

Last but not least, take a walk with me on the wild side! I’m talking out-of-the-norm bridesmaid dresses. Let your inner wild child out and go BOLD!

I was recently browsing gowns and I saw some lovely leopard print dresses. Animal print is coming back in style! The gowns were being advertised for prom but then I thought they would make a sexy bridesmaid gown! (With the right theme/scheme of course!) So I did some research and sure enough, I found a California based Bride that tapped into her inner wild child spirit and it was the most elegant and beautiful display of leopard print I ever did see! Who would have thought? Leave it to trendy California to give me all the right vibes!!

These images were jaw dropping and made the leopard dresses stand as a statement but did not take away from the Bride whatsoever. The color scheme was stunning and the venue had such an earthy setting that it all paired together perfectly. I had seen a few other inspirations where the girls wore a mix of taupe, brown and leopard which was a beautiful option as well. Although leopard may not be your thing, it’s a nice reminder that you don’t have to be afraid of patterns and going bold with your statements. Options and opportunities are endless!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I look forward to sharing more with you all again soon✨ Sending peace & love!
